I opted to purchase this charger for my son's John Deere tractor ride-on as his other one had been lost in our move. I chose this one versus the quick-charge one based solely on that this one was nearly half the price. So far I am pleased with my purchase. The charger does charge the battery like it should. The light indicator on it however that is supposed to turn green when the battery is fully charged and be orange (I believe) when it is charging always stays green. This caused concern at first as I thought something was wrong with the charger or my battery because it was showing charged but the tractor was not working. Turns out it just wasn't charged. I chose not to return it just because of the light. Overall I would recommend this product to others.

This charger works fine and as expected. The only confusion I had was the connector. It doesn't look like the connector on the battery but it plugs in and works fine. The battery has 4 pins but the charger has only two so I thought it was the wrong one. I called the very helpful customer service dept at Fisher Price and was told it is correct.
Just plug it in to the two pins in the middle. It works fine.

Our son was given the iPlay Build a Road set for his 2nd birthday. It seemed great at first, but very quickly -within the first hour of use - the cars died and could not be revived with new batteries. What a waste of money. After reading reviews on Amazon, I know that many people have had this issue with the iPlay sets.

Luckily the store was willing to exchange this useless toy with another product and we chose the Mindscope NEO TRACKS set. It looked "amazing" upon opening and continues to be amazing to my son today. We have had endless hours of fun with the cars and never had an issue with battery life. The flexible track is very cool and can be configured in many fun ways with bridges, tunnels, etc. It comes with one car but additional cars are sold separately for more racing fun.

My 2 1/2 year old son loves this toy!! It by far his favorite gift this year. I love that he can do it himself. If he knocks the car off of the track, he can get it back on himself. I also love how easy it is to move the track from one room to another or to roll it up to put away, not that my son is going to want to put it up any time soon. Since it comes with two cars, we can split the tracks and make two tracks and then his 5-year-old sister can play with a track too. This is is really great when you have sibling rivalry over toys.

One thing to beware of, girls keep your hair away from the cars. My 5-year-old have gotten the car wheels wrapped in her hair twice, once because my son thought it would be a good idea to ride the car up his sister's back while she was laying on the floor and it got caught in her hair and once because she got her hair too close to the track.

Overall, this is a great toy!!!

This is such a great deal! If you look into purchasing a charger from Fisher-Price/Hot Wheels, it costs over $40 plus shipping! Without a charger, the ride on toy is useless, so this is a must have! I purchased this from Amazon for less than $18. It is the offical Hot Wheels battery charger and works perfectly with the BLUE toddler size battery. Make sure that's the charger you need, as the chargers are not interchangeable with other batteries. Read the directions, too, because it takes 14 - 18 hours to fully charge. I plugged it in last night and by this morning the battery was ready to go. I fully recommend this product. Works great and great price, too!

My son recently received a Power Wheels jeep that had been in use for over 3 years before he got it. The batteries had not been charged as specified in the instructions, and they died shortly after he started using it. The jeep couldn't run on concrete, much less on grass.

I replaced both existing batteries with these, which incidentally are a different colour from the picture, and the jeep now runs fine on most surfaces.

It requires 18 hours charging time before you can use the batteries, so be prepared for some impatience before the vehicle can actually be used. You have to charge them after each use, and also once a month if the vehicle is not in use, at 16 hours each time.

Tech support from Fisher Price is non-existent in my part of the world, where 800 numbers are not accessible, because their site doesn't have a customer service or tech support e-mail address listed. I needed important information, because I learned that the model I have was recalled for electrical problems, and I wanted to see exactly which parts needed to be fixed to solve the problem.

I'm sure that these batteries will last a long time with proper care, but wish the tech support was better

I like this charger as it gets the power wheels battery charged fast and easy. The diagnostic lights are a bit simple, but can be easily misread or even mis-diagnosed. If you get a flashing red, the charger will still give a charge. The solid red, of course, means that it is charging a good battery. Sometimes, even new batteries can get a bad battery signal. But, just keep charging with the flashing red. It will turn green eventually. You can use a meter to verify this if unsure on both battery and charger. You should get something like 14 volts for a fully charged battery. This is how I figured I needed a new charger since I got the power wheels second-handedly. The charger shuts down when the indicator is green to protect the battery from overcharging. The important thing is to not let lead-acid batteries lose too much charge where the chemical process is irreversible. So keep the power wheels batteries charged before storing for long periods.

I wanted an inexpensive off road R/C vehicle that didn't cost much over $100. I'm not planning on racing, just something for the yard and driveway. Well, this fit the bill perfectly. It will crawl over grass, sidewalks, sand, small animals, almost anything that gets in it's way. It does exactly what you think those cheap R/C trucks SHOULD do but don't. I drove it in the rain and through shallow water and it did great. The only downside so far is the whine of the motors but it probably geared to heck to do all that it does. I paid less for it at Wally World so shop around.

The battery will work fine for 2-3 seasons provided you keep it charged.
My kids have enjoyed these for years, A new battery will last most of the day, and I do have hills. By the third season the charge won't hold very long.

The quickest way to ruin lead-acid batteries is to discharge them deeply and leave them stand "dead" for an extended period of time. When they discharge, there is a chemical change in the positive plates of the battery. They change from lead oxide when charged to lead sulfate when discharged. If they remain in the lead sulfate state for a few days, some part of the plate does not return to lead oxide when the battery is recharged. If the battery remains discharged longer, a greater amount of the positive plate will remain lead sulfate. The parts of the plates that become "sulfated" no longer store energy. Batteries that are deeply discharged, and then charged partially on a regular basis can fail in less than one year.
